Fairy Garden

Have been working very hard on getting this project done.  I'm still in the middle, but only get time to stitch on it at night.  I have been working on it for about 2 1/2 weeks.  I almost have the flower done in the center.

Canning

Spent most of August through November canning.  I canned, grape, plum, white peach jam.  Made applesauce, picked cabbage, pickled green beans, hot peppers.  Made salsa, froze green beans.  Will post picutures of everything on my multiply site.

Everything thats happend

Got all the Christmas Cards sent out for family and cross stitch friends. Have to finish shopping for Christmas. Now that we are living in the middle of nowwhere, going Christmas shopping has to be done in one day or two trips. Not like where we lived before, everything was so close. Hope to do some stitching after the Christmas Holiday. We have two new furbabies, one is a white and orange kitty, I named him Sassy Kitty, that's all he does, if he's not sleeping. And our second is a 5 year old Pomeranian, she is black with a little white at her mouth, her name is Shanti (Shawntea), I just love her. She belonged to my niece, but she couldn't have her at her Condo, (no outside pets new rule), so of course through my nieces tears, Auntie gave in. My niece got her from a breeding farm, where they kept the dogs in cages and just keep breeding them, with her being black, she is suppose to be a rare color. So my niece adopted her had her fixed. Her only drawback is she doesn't like men. Ya hoo!!! At least I can say she will be mine. It seemed with our other dogs, I potty trained them, then they went to my husband.

Started on an SAL, but the fabric was cut too short, so I had to order another piece, needless to say I haven't started it again. I am trying to work on ones that I had already started.

The weather has been bitterly cold. We had snow Tuesday night and then lost power, Wednesday snow and blowing wind and no power, Thursday power came on about 6:00am, snow and blowing wind and cold temps, the high was 20 degrees. Either Monday or Tuesday next week we will hit 32 (heat wave after this cold stuff). This weather is January or February weather in Michigan. The other horrible thing is everything is frozen and icy. I had convinced my husband last summer to build an outhouse, glad he did, it was cold, but aleast I didn't have to go behind the barn and freeze. It just wasn't us without power, the town before us and all of our town was without power, schools were closed too.

Update

We have moved up to Northern Michigan, we lost our house in Ferndale. I am still not adjusted to it yet, and still have to find room to put everything. We already had furniture in the house so now I have to re-arrange the rooms.

My step-son, took his wife back about 3 weeks after he started the divorce proceedings. She told him she wouldn't do it again, but she won't let him come up to our house, so I know she is wearing the pants in the family again. They now have their thrid child a boy named Charlie. We've seen him once it was 3 weeks after he was born.

My husband and I have done canning, but our garden didn't produce like we had hoped it would. I still have grapes to can.

My vocational rehab, person is trying to find me jobs that I can't do, because I have lifting restrictions, but she thinks that the Dollar Store, you are just a cashier, not here, you have to stock stuff, and push carts with the stuff to put on the shelves. I wish I could find something in a doctor's office, dentist office, or something like that.

I haven't done any cross stitching, but my granddaughter is learning. Except that Grandma gets to do most of the work.

My Family and Thoughts

I am trying to get over Bronchitis. My stepson has filed for divorce from his wife, right now he gets the kids till September of this year and gets the house. But hopefully he will have full custody of them. It's Spring somewhere, but I don't know where. Not here. It is so cold and blustery. My grape hyacin's are coming out poor things are so small. Went through all my kits, that I have bought over the years, I sure have a lot to do. Two or more are gifts, which will get done sometimes in the future, and then they won't be in the pile anymore. I got a box from Michael's last year which is made up of bamboo, it had a liner that you could take out and wash. I washed it, but like it better without. Maybe its because I can get more stuff in the box. Will have to take a picture of the box. I am starting to cough again, have to take more of the Robatussin DM - God that stuff is awful.

I just counted the kits I have, 32, 4 are WIP's, the others haven't been started yet. Some are small kits, so hopefully they will go fast. 2 are Mill Hill Bead Ornaments. I never realized how many I had. These are gifts - 8 so far are gifts. Some are Christmas, at least 4 or 5 are, so that helps too. Oh well, I will just keep adding to my stash of goodies.
